ATWT – A thousand words thursday
Jen over at Cheaper than Therapy does this every week and I am enjoying joining in.

This is a picture of Gillian, my nine year old. Keep in mind, my wife is 4’11″, and I believe that Gilli is going to take after her. Me? I’m 6’2″ and I don’t think either of my kids will be as big.
The funny thing about this pic is that Gillian used to say “I don’t know how to read” when we would read to her and ask her to try. “You read it Daddy!” was her favorite come back. Now, she’s a voracious reader who in most cases will rather pick up a book than watch cartoons – SEE! I KNEW I DID SOMETHING RIGHT!!
the funny thing is, now that she reads by herself all the time, we always read a chapter of May Bird before bed. My son got jealous so I’m reading to him too. They like it, and I get a kick out of it too.

Gillian is BEAUTIFUL and this picture captures the joy in her eyes. It made me smile!

Thanks so much:) The funny thing is, she couldn’t look more NOT like my side of the family. We’re all dark irish – dark hair, dark eyes. She’s the spitting image of my father in law from the blond hair to the blue/green eyes.
She’s an imp and she knows it at times

A love for reading is a great thing to have!

She’s gorgeous! And I think she and one of my 9 year old twin boys would make a fabulous couple. They are both HUGE readers (Jack spent most of the afternoon by the pool with his face in a book and didn’t want to jump in with his brothers cause he was so into the story!). Nice picture too!

Andrea: isn’t it though?
TMJ: Thanks, I think so too. The dots are because her room is really small, and it helps make it look bigger. Letting her help us put them up was a nice treat too.

Thanks. Most of the good shots I take are mostly by accident. When I try to pose them, I get the fake smiles and the weird stances.
And either one of your handsome boys would make a great couple

Thanks Bree:)
I think it’s all about them finding what they like to read. When we tried to get her to read, she didn’t want anything to do with it. All kids are different
