Nasal Wash + Sinus Infection?
Dude, serious ick. I've been using a nasal wash - yeah, pretty much a squirt bottle with some saline in it that you shove up your nose and squirt - for a while now and it has saved me from getting sick a few times. I try to use it regularly, but doesn't always happen. Helps my sinuses most of the time because it cleans out the particles and other crap that hides in your sinuses and makes you sick.
The problem is, when you start using it once your sick, not everything drains out. Yeah, no fun. I've been sick the last few days and everytime I bend down for something, even tho it's been hours, I have liquid leaking out of my nose. Yes, I'm carrying tissues, but dude, this is nasty. And it's not even clear, yes, I'll leave it at that.
Just thought I'd share. What's the most embarassing thing that's happened to you when you're sick?

Hey- careful using saline washes when sick, or at the very least make sure you sterlize the container well between uses and discard any extra saline. I had to deal with a secondary serious fungal infection last year when I used a saline wash while sick which I was told was due to the container not being clean enough and the left over saline solution being contaminated.

I hear you and I’ve been warned of the same thing. I’m using it in the AM in the shower, rinsing it and letting it soak in boiling water when I leave for work and my lovely wife is emptying it out and letting it dry when she wakes up an hour or so later.

Let’s see – I had a coughing/sneezing attack back in my Episcopal days wile I was at teh altar helping iwht communion. You don’t want to drink wine offered by soemone who appears to have consumptopn.

I coughed so much I peed, but at least I was home alone. I hate sounding stuffy and looking all bloated when I’m sick.

I had an operation on my ankle a couple of years ago, woke up with a terrific headache and didn’t feel much like doing anything except laying still. A friend who worked in hospital rang up and the nurse gave me the phone, I felt a wave of nausea hit me and managed to get the nurse, the phone, the bed, me, the floor and some on the wall… I felt so embarrassed and if that wasn’t enough I did it again an hour or so later when I had been cleaned up after the first occasion… now can I go and stand in the corner?
