Sucks to be me…

Okay, it's 2:40am as I begin writing this.  Why am I awake?  I'm a notoriously light sleeper and tonight was worse than normal.  I think if anyone farted in China I would have woken up.  So I am awake, resentful that everyone else is out cold, and I'm sitting here worried about finances, the future, my job, school for the kids, how I'm going to be able to go to Kendo in about 15 hours.  You know, the usual stuff.

I can usually fall asleep REALLY easily.  The issue is, when I do fall asleep, if I wake up, it's SO hard to go back to sleep.  So my wife, wanting to spoon, instead of warm and loving, woke me up, and not only do I have trouble falling back to sleep, I"m fuckin ornery.  So I'm resenting that she's now out cold, and I can't even take a tylenol PM because I'll sleep right through the alarm.  So here I sit, contemplating what will happen in a few hours when it struck me that I can get about 4 hours of work done, get the kids off to school, and then crash for a few hours.  Yeah, that's what I'm going to do.  And I'll take 2 Tylenol PM in about 18 hours and crash like a mofo :)

Problem is, until then, is going to royally blow.

  1. Matt – just do what I do and stay up for 2 or 3 days at a time then when you sleep even a tornado wont wake you! I have had that happen before so it must work!

  2. I know how you feel! My husband stays up late working and then comes to bed at 2am and wakes me up. Then I’m awake for the duration of the night.

  3. I’m a chronic insomniac so cleep is often a problem for. Both problems – falling asleep in the first place and falling back asleep once I’ve woken up.

  4. Me too… been waking up way too early, wide awake and just wanting to be sleepy and go back to dreamland. By the time I get to work I’m dragging and cranky. Tonight I went to the gym and got good and wiped out and I BETTER sleep tonight. Hope you do too.
