Politics: Jon Stewart for President
DJ Blurb over at the Blurbomat posted something that I have to do as well. I really think that Jon Stewart should be running for president. His show last night was hilarious.
Pssst…Do something
they're working on making people aware of all of the racism and prejudice that Fox is interjecting into their news casts. Is it biased? Of course, but I figured I'd spread the word because I can't stand closeminded a-holes
Excited
I have to say, even with how much I would like Hillary to concede, it has been the most exciting political experience for me. I'm more involved, more informed, and more concerned with the outcome. I've been a fan of Obama since he spoke at the DNC in 2004, and I was glad to see him declare his candidacy this year. I'll be really interesting to see what happened once we finally have a democratic candidate. I hav a good feeling about this year.
I'm not sure what will happen below, I am testing out the adsense part of WordPress

Who’s the Boss?
On his website, Bruce Springsteen has endorsed Barack Obama for President. Gotta love his not so subtle dig at Clinton for taking words said and using them for her own purposes.
Change Congress
Interesting perspective - neat guy with some interesting ideas. Read his blog.
Enuf already
Iraq Weapons Are a Focus of Criminal Investigations
People are dying. Their fighting for what they think is right. For a decision made my money grubbing, greedy, uncaring people who are only in it for themselves.
PEOPLE ARE DYING FOR MONEY!!!!
Wait, that's happened before, I forgot. People are always dying for money. What a great cause.
"We need to do something about it" "But I'm only one person"
I'm so sick of that, but truly, what can we all do? What can each one of us do? The political system is totally screwed. The vast majority of the population would most likely roll over for a few extra bucks.
You know what's wrong with this country? (I can't believe I'm going to say this)
Lack of Ethics
period. The generation above me and my generation - "I don't give a rats ass as long as I can make more and spend more and get more and show off more and more and more!"
WTF? Wait, I know! I'll run for president and change everything. Um, no. That won't work. No one would vote for me because I wouldn't want to take all that money. Bill Bradley tried that, and look where it got him!
You know what you can do? Teach your kids. Teach the kids who are learning what life is like the hard way. Teach your kids, or at least the kids you come into contact with
- Manners
- Patience
- Respect
and most importantly
- Whatever they do, they are responsible for their own actions and the consequences of those actions.
Don't hide things from them that you've done in the past. Let them learn from your mistakes and bad decisions so that they don't make the same bad decisions and mistakes. Don't try to "just not let them" do things because they'll rebel even more. Let them benefit from your experiences.
Do my kids know I did drugs when I was in college and that it took me 11 years to finish?
HELL YES!
"I'm not going to do drugs Dad, ever." I'm glad they're saying this now, but it's important to follow through. Keep up the reminders, the reasons, and the explanations so they don't think it was just a speech that you felt obligated to make when they were 10, before they were every exposed to anything.
CONSISTENCY is the key.
AWARENESS of their actions
RESPONSIBILITY for those actions
THINK ETHICALLY about anything they do.
Wait, where did this soapbox come from? Okay, I'll get down now.
Okay, it’s time for ‘Who Cares?’
http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2007/07/23/fileshare
I elected my officials to go to Washington to represent me to help make my life better, easier, I dunno. Maybe actually accomplish something?
I have to say in response to this article - WHO THE F&*K CARES?!?!?
We have a WHOLE lot more problems with our government, with our economy, and with a thousand different other things for idiots like this guy going after something that benefits big business. Does this effect the economy? YES!
But not for the reasons you're thinking. Will cracking down on filesharing help save the music industry some money? In my point of view? NO! I don't agree with downloading and filesharing, but honestly I think it spreads music around a lot better and honestly makes me buy MORE music than I normally would have.
I used to buy a cd or two every couple of months. I spend a lot more per month at iTunes based on "Hey man, have you heard this? Come check this out" from friends than I would have ever before.
Louisiana is still a mess. There are more murders in Baton Rouge in the last 18 months than ever before. EVER!!! How about going after that? How about making it SAFE for people to be witnesses in murders so they can testify instead of declining and letting these people go for fear of retribution.
All in all? Grr factor 10 here.
The Decider at his best

wow, I'm not sure what to look at first. The fact that he's wearing crocs(cool), the fact that he's wearing presidential seal sox, the little doggie hat, or the apparent skirt he's got on.
Dude...Get out more and get a tan on those spindly legs of yours! My EYES!!!
Someone worth voting for? Ron Paul for Pres?
And *GASP*
He's republican!!! RUN AWAY!!!
seriously. I've been reading and watching more and more about this guy and for the first time in a long time I can honestly say I am interested in a republican candidate. He's got balls, he's got experience, he's smart(dude, he's a obgyn!)...
The one thing I am not crazy about is that he's antiabortion. But even with that he's TOTALLY prolife - no capitol punishment, staying out of countries for starting wars etc.
His stance is more along the lines of founding fathers - don't try to make countries, don't get in everyone elses policies, etc. We have enough going on here to handle without messing with other people.
Am I voting for him? I dunno. Going to do more research tho, that's for sure.
So should you -
